Something wicked this way comes — again!

Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman cast a spell on theater owners at CinemaCon on Tuesday, taking the stage at Caesar's Colliseum hand-in-hand before teasing their long-anticipated sequel to *Practical Magic*.

Sally Owens (Bullock) and her sister Gillian (Kidman) are still living in the same house, which Bullock says was completely recreated for them to film in and around.

It was "eerily silent," Bullock said of the movie's crew's first time on set. "People were like, 'You've the house completely, down to the loom in the dining room.'"

"But where are the characters now?" asked Warner Bros. presentation emcee Patton Oswalt.

They're enjoying "midnight margaritas" and "jumpin' off the roof," Kidman said. But it's not all fun, because their pasts are "catching up with us," she continued. "We have our destinies, and we have the family."

While Gillian is still single and mom to a black cat, Sally has two daughters, though she's now single too. "And if you know the original film, you can probably guess why," she told the crowd.

Visibly excited to be together and talk about the movie, in theaters Sept. 11, Bullock had a simple explanation: "How often do you get to go and not remake but relive something that brought you so much happiness?"

In the trailer, we return to the sisters' coastal home in Massachusetts, where they tell Lee Pace's character that everyone who gets close to them dies — uh oh. We also saw a glimpse of Stockard Channing and Dianne Wiest reprising their roles as the sisters' aunts, Frances and Jet, and were introduced to Joey King and Maisie Williams as Sally's daughters. The movie also stars Xolo Maridueña and Solly McLeod.

The sequel is being helmed by Susanne Bier, who collaborated with Kidman on the miniseries *The Perfect Couple* and directed Bullock in *Bird Box*.

*Practical Magic 2* comes 28 years after the 1998 original, which saw Sally and Gillian reunite to use their witch powers to fight the spirit of Gillian's abusive ex Jimmy (Goran Visnjic). The film grossed just $68 million on a $75 million budget but has gained a substantial following in the years since its release, thanks to persistent Halloween rewatches.

The film also starred Evan Rachel Wood as Kylie, Sally's eldest daughter. However, Wood revealed that she was not asked to return for *Practical Magic 2*.

"I was not asked to come back and be in the #PracticalMagic sequel. I offered my services, even if it was one scene or one line," the *Westworld* star wrote on Instagram in July. "I was told they are re-casting. I am sorry to disappoint the fans. It was not in my control or my choice. I would have happily rejoined my sisters."

Kidman previously shared a video on Instagram celebrating her first day of production alongside Bullock. "The witches are back," Kidman captioned the post. "Owens sisters' first day on set!"

*Practical Magic 2* will release in theaters on Sept. 11, 2026.
